I stopped to take a picture of this wire on this fence post. I didn't know if it was worth the effort or not. Sometimes you shoot something for the fun of it and just sorta hope that maybe it will be something.
As I was crouching and looking the fence over I was standing on dirt/gravel road with enough room for about two cars to pass one another if everyone involved were sober and completely paying attention. An Amish buggy came down the lane to the nearby house and went the other direction. So I didn't have to deal with that by getting out of the way.
But he went about two hundred yards down the lane away from me and my new friend the fence post and abruptly turned. I could tell by the way he turned that horse and started hurriedly down the road that we were about to have a conversation.
"What are you up to he asked?"
So I told him that I was a crazy person who thought wound up wire on the top of the fence post might be a picture. Especially with the clover in the foreground.
He was okay with that. He apparently thought that there might be some special bird that I was trying to get a picture of.
A surprising number of Amish watch birds. Some with binoculars and some with spotting scopes. They know their birds and they know what is new to their property and keep track of the different ones migrating through. Even little kids will have something to say when the topic of birds on the property comes up. So it was not a surprise that he was interested if I'd seen a special bird.
Nothing so exciting. A fence post and wire. That's about it.
